We recognise that the residential aspect of a Trewern course is of great importance. A range of evening activities are offered to compliment the domestic challenges presented.

A Local Walk

A night time walk starting and finishing at the centre. This may provide opportunities to look at night skys or undertake even a little bat watching.

Orienteering in the Centre Grounds

Orienteering

We have a number of introductory orienteering courses setup within the house and Centre grounds. The skills aquired can be further developed on larger more challenging courses away from the Centre.

Night Line

Undertaken blindfolded this activity encourages the development of communication, trust and team work.

Yum! Yum!

"Cook Out"

(dinner or breakfast) Working in small groups, students cook their own meals outside, on small camping stoves. This activities increases self confidence, encourages independence and requires teamwork.

 

The Ropes Course

 

Ropes Course

Purpose built equipment develops problem solving abilities, consolidates team working skills and improves safety awareness.

 

The Assault Course

Assault Course

A larger more challenging version of the ropes course this activity requires determination, and the ability to listen and trust other members of the group.

 

Overnight under canvas

 

Camp Out

An overnight experience under canvas within the Centre grounds or as part of an extended expedition.

 

 

Swimming

(hire of a local junior school pool -additional cost)

We also have a range of indoor games, a small library, music, dvd and video playing facilities, quizzes and an ICT suite for group use during the evenings
